Take a Picture, It Will Last Longer.

Well… I guess this doesn’t work with winning streaks…

The Chicago Blackhawks saw some life toward the end of their longest road trip in eighteen years, and carried the winning streak home with them to the windy city, but apparently it was too be short lived.  Even after defeating two of the top teams in the league (No. 2 Detriot and No. 3 NY Rangers) the Hawks could only hold the good mojo going for four games before falling into bad play and falling to the Dallas Stars at home.

And tonight? I am current;y watching the last few seconds tick off the clock as the Anaheim takes a win over the struggling Chicago team, 3-1 Ducks.  Anaheim, I should mention, has also just come out of a lengthy road trip, but they seem to be taking it in stride, and with tonight’s win have placed themselves only 6 points out of a playoff spot given current Western Conference standings.

What is going on with the Blackhawks?  That’s a post for another day.  But Capt. Jonathan Toews is still off the ice with an unspecified upper body injury and is said to be day-to-day.  Missing this leader on the ice as well as their leading goal scorer cannot be ignored as a factor in these recent losses.  Niklas Hjalmarsson has also not returned to the ice due to an upper body injury.

But let’s take a moment to remember the good times.  Luckily the Blackhawks’ franchise keeps these winning moments frozen in time for us on some newfangled internet thing called “facebook” (it’ll never catch on…).
